The Aotearoa series brings together scent environments composed in relation to the landscapes, weather systems and living ecologies of New Zealand.
These chronicles attend to the texture of presence – the movement of air, moisture, wind and light – and how perception shifts in response to scale, openness and the rhythm of change.
Each scent arises from time spent with place: listening at daybreak, moving through forest and coast, watching weather pass and noticing how scent travels through clean air to settle into the domesticity of daily life.
Together, the series reflects a landscape that resists fixation –expansive, elemental and alive. These compositions offer moments of sensing that remain open, responsive and grounded in lived encounter.
