The KŌSCENT practice unfolds through a series of connected engagements, each stemming from an observation-led approach to scent. This work is held with care, a sense of proportion, and a deep attention to the conditions already present within a given situation.

Each engagement series is to unfold slowly to allow for natural integration. While some forms are currently available, others are developing and will take form as the practice grows.

Scent Environments

————

Scent environments are to be developed in close dialogue with a specific place and purpose.

The work begins by attending to the sensory conditions already present –rhythm, pacing, material qualities, and the subtle movements of breath within a space. By honouring these existing elements, scent is composed to support how time and space are experienced, allowing encounters to remain open and undirected.

These environments often take form in collaboration with artists, designers, architects, and movement practitioners, or within projects where scent is understood as part of a wider sensory ecology. Each composition is uniquely attuned to its setting, informed by context and the flow of lived use.

If this approach feels aligned with your project, please get in touch.

Studio Resources

————

Studio Resources are a growing collection of practice-based information materials developed at the KŌSCENT Studio.

The materials are offered to support attentive working with scent – from initial observation and material listening to the complexities of composition, proportion, and integration.

Each resource is self-contained and designed to accompany an ongoing practice. Rather than serving as a quick reference, they invite a slower, more immersive engagement with botanical materials.

A small selection is currently in development. Some materials are shared freely, while others are offered through a modest exchange that reflects the time and care involved in their making.

Programmes & Studio Engagements

————

Longer‑form programmes and occasional gatherings – held both online and on-site –unfold as part of the wider KŌSCENT practice. These sessions are conceived as openings for continued exploration and shared discovery.

In time, programme details and studio-based resources will be gathered within KŌSCENT Studio – a dedicated place for a more curated and immersive engagement with the practice.
